I came to Westwood because I had moved to Calgary to a similar place but wanted to be where it was warmer and I have family here. I looked at places on the other side of the bridge and decided on this building because it looked comfortable. I’ve been here for three years on the 21st of September.
I chose to live here because I loved the beautiful building and when Corinne took me through I loved it. My wife and I didn't look anywhere else because we wanted to stay living on the Westside.
When I first thought about moving to Westwood Retirement Resort I had some real reservations, after all, this place was for old people. I thought, “I’m not old!” Fortunately for me I decided to give it a chance. Since living here I have never been busier, busy doing fun thinks – things like creating a newspaper, knitting, as part of a group making beautiful things like shrugs for the elders and baby clothing for the new borne of a northern Aboriginal community. Then there are the many nice people, not just residents but staff as well, that I always get to laugh with.
